Position: Sales Clerk (Part-Time)
Schedule: Fixed 20 hours per week (Saturday through Tuesday, 4:30 PM to 9:30 PM)
What the Role Entails
As a Sales Clerk, you will be the face of the shop during the evening and weekend hours noted above, handling both retail operations and running our scheduled in-store events.
Your core responsibilities will include:

Front-of-House Operations: Handling the customer checkout experience, processing transactions/returns accurately through our POS system, and managing end-of-shift tasks.

Customer Advisory: Helping fellow hobbyists find the right products and providing guidance across our core categories (board games, trading card games, and tabletop miniatures). You’ll also relay any customer special order requests to the leadership team.

Community & Event Management: Setting up and clearing the gaming tables based on our events calendar. You will use designated event software to register players, generate pairings, and report official match results for various trading card games. Serving as a neutral coordinator during community play events, keeping the environment safe and family-friendly, and encouraging friendly collaboration among participants to solve any in-game disputes.

Shop Maintenance: Keeping our play spaces, storefront, and shelves clean, organized, and properly faced.

Position Requirements & Physical Demands
To be successful in this role, you must meet the following criteria:

Availability: Strict adherence to our fixed schedule: Saturday through Tuesday, 4:30 PM – 9:30 PM. Punctuality is critical so our events always launch on time.

Hobby Knowledge: Familiarity with modern hobby game categories, specifically board games, trading card games, tabletop wargaming, and related hobby-crafting. Extensive knowledge is not required, however considered an asset.
- Physical Demands: Ability to stand for the duration of a shift (up to 5 hours) and comfortably lift up to 20 lbs.
Compensation & Entitlements

Starting Wage: Current Ontario general minimum wage

Vacation Pay: 4% pay in lieu of vacation, added directly to each regular pay period
- Pay Frequency: Paid biweekly
