Getting started with the Pokémon TCG isn’t as complicated as it appears. As usual, we recommend watching a learn to play video, so that you are operating from an informed place, but it is as simple as choosing from three different paths. You might choose to start with an Elite Trainer Bundle. This box will provide you with ten booster packs, each containing ten cards, 45 energy cards, 65 card sleeves, a metal coin, acrylic status markers, and a host of other special items and benefits that you can use to make your first deck and get playing. Alternatively, for the trainer who likes something a little more straight forward, you might get a Build and Battle box, which comes with a 23-card evolution pack and 4 booster packs to make a 40-card deck out of. Finally, for the player who really wants to just crack a pack and go, there are battle/themed decks. These are pre-constructed 60 card decks with set card lists, that are ready to go as soon as you open them. So, find the deck or box that fits the theme you are wanting to go with and then pick an option to buy in at the level that’s most comfortable for you.
